What's the difference between FUE Sapphire and DHI?

FUE Sapphire opens the implant channels with sapphire blades before inserting the follicular units. DHI uses a Choi implanter that incises and implants in the same motion. DHI gives more control over hair direction and angle; FUE Sapphire is faster on wide areas. Achievable densities are comparable. The doctor makes the choice after scalp analysis.

How many grafts do I need in my case?

It depends on the Norwood-Hamilton classification, hair quality, and area to cover. Typically: 1,500 – 2,500 for initial recession, 2,500 – 3,500 for moderate diffuse balding, 3,500 – 4,500 for extensive balding. The exact number is set by the doctor during consultation.

Can I do both techniques in the same procedure?

Yes, and it's sometimes the best choice. FUE Sapphire for the crown, DHI for the hairline, for example: a combined technique. The doctor proposes it only if it makes clinical sense, not to justify a higher price. The price doesn't change.

Is there a risk of visible scarring?

With FUE Sapphire and DHI, incisions are micro (0.7-0.9 mm) and close in 7-10 days. With a shaved cut they may appear as light dots for a few weeks, then become invisible. There is no linear scar like FUT, because we don't use that technique.

Do you also treat beard, eyebrows, or female hair transplants?

Yes. FUE Sapphire and DHI techniques apply to beard, eyebrow and female hair transplants as well (with partial trichotomy, no full shave). The logic is the same — one method, one price. The figure depends on the number of follicular units, which we evaluate during consultation.

How long is the stay?

4 days, 3 nights. Arrival day 1, procedure day 2, first guided wash day 3, departure day 4. If flights align, it can be done in 3 days: arrival + procedure day 1, wash + departure day 3.

Is the hotel included in the price?

Yes. 3 nights in a suite at a 5★ hotel less than 10 minutes from the studio. Breakfast included. Room booked in your name. Other expenses (dinners out, minibar) are at your charge.

Do I have to book the flight myself?

Yes. Round-trip flight not included. Most flights from major European cities cost between 80 € and 200 € per person. We can advise you on the best timing to coordinate transfers.

Of course. The companion can stay in the same suite (no extra room charge). The transfer and dedicated assistant cover both. Their personal expenses (flight, meals) remain at their charge.

Yes. You'll have a person dedicated to you for the entire stay who speaks fluent Italian and English. The same person will write to you on WhatsApp afterwards, for the 12 months of follow-up.

The only sensitive moment is the local anesthesia injection, which lasts about 5 minutes. After that, you feel nothing. Most patients chat, watch films, or sleep. In the evening you feel mild tension in the donor area, manageable with paracetamol.

FUE Sapphire: 6 – 8 hours. DHI: 7 – 9 hours. Mid-session lunch. Pauses are included, because we don't work piecework: the doctor decides when to slow down.

Yes. Local anesthesia, optionally light conscious sedation if you're particularly tense. No general anesthesia: not necessary, and introduces unjustified risks.

Serious risks (infection, vascular damage) are very rare thanks to hospital standards. Expected risks are temporary: frontal swelling for 2-3 days, scab formation that falls off in 10-14 days, initial graft loss (shock loss) before final growth. All normal.

When can I be in public again?

After 10 days the donor area is fully healed and the dots disappear. The recipient area will still have a slight redness that fades within 3-4 weeks. For important occasions (weddings, meetings) we recommend a 4-week margin.

Visible growth: 4-6 months. Consolidated result: 12 months. Final result (with full hair maturation): 18 months. Between months 1 and 3 there's a shock loss phase where new hairs fall before regrowing stable: it's normal, not a failure.

Yes, if there's no strict dress code and you can hide the recipient area with a non-tight cap for 7-10 days. Heavy physical jobs: 2-week break recommended. Office work: even the following Monday.

No intense sports or heavy sweating for 2 weeks. No pool, sauna, sea for 4 weeks. No direct sun on the recipient area for 8 weeks. Walking and light activities can resume from day 3.

What do I wash and with what?

We do the first wash together, day 3, with a specific procedure. From home you wash the donor area with neutral shampoo from day 4 and the recipient area with dedicated shampoo (included in the kit) from day 5 to 14. From day 15 you can return to your usual shampoo.

What if the density doesn't match expectations?

Lifetime guarantee on the procedure: if at any point the density doesn't match the agreed-upon plan, we schedule a free touch-up. There's no expiration — the guarantee doesn't run out. Only flight and hotel for the touch-up are at your charge.

What if the hair falls out again after a few years?

Transplanted hair comes from the donor area (occipital), which is genetically resistant to androgenetic loss and keeps that property in its new position. What can happen is that you continue to lose hair in non-transplanted areas. That's why, during consultation, we discuss optional pharmacological support (finasteride, minoxidil) to maintain the rest.

Is there insurance on the procedure?

Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date. The balance is paid on the day of the procedure, on signature of consent. If you need to change the date up to 7 days before the procedure, we rebook at no extra cost. Changes with less than 48 hours' notice we evaluate case by case.

What do I need to prepare before flying to Istanbul?

Nothing in particular. Blood tests and the haircut are done in clinic on day 1 — you don't need to do them at home. Suspend: alcohol for 5 days before, smoking for 24h before and 7 days after, blood-thinning supplements (vitamin E, omega-3) for 7 days before. Bring only the medications you take routinely.
